Stop Destroying Your Own Home
It has been said that it takes a quart of oil to import one bottle of Fiji water! That’s a ridiculous waste of energy and CO2 released into the atmosphere as a result. The resources and pollutants to manufacture and deliver plastic bottles include natural gas, crude oil and the transport trucks and train used for distribution and disposal as well other resources used for package labels. It is dangerous to recycle or reuse plastic water bottles. Reusing plastic bottles exposes the user to bacteria and other chemicals that can leak from the damaged plastic bottle. That’s why most of us just throw it away after consumption. 8.8 billion gallons of bottled water were consumed in the U.S. in 2007 and about 63 billion plastic bottles are dumped into landfills and the ocean every year! Did you know that there is a plastic garbage patch twice the size of Texas in the North Pacific Ocean? More than 70% of North Pacific sea animals, fish and birds are affected by eating plastic. It is killing the ocean and poisoning the fish you eat!
